Research Study on Entrepreneurial Decision-making

Dear Potential Participant,

My name is Greg Price and I am doctoral student in the School of Applied Leadership at City University of Seattle. I am requesting your assistance in my doctoral dissertation study. The purpose of this study is to identify decision-making processes that impact the entrepreneurial experience as businesses transition from the startup phase to the formative or sustainable phase of business activity; known as the point of inflection.

I am creating a participant pool from which I will randomly select up to 25 participants.  I would like to invite you to become a part of this study pool.

If you are selected to participate in the study, participation will involve an in-depth interview that will be no more than 90 minutes. During the interview, to ensure data is gathered accurately, a digital recorder will be used to record the session to allow for the transcription of the contents for further analysis.

After the interview, there may be a need to contact you for a follow-up question to clarify a response. Within a week of the interview, you will be emailed the transcription of the interview for you to review for accuracy.

Should you have any questions, you can reach me at my cell 206-491-0839. If you are selected an email will be sent to you confirming your participation and that email will include an informed consent form (which will need to be returned to me).  The interview date, time, and location will be arranged at your convenience. If you cannot attend a face-to-face interview, an interview over the phone can be arranged.  The interview questions will be sent to you before the interview so you can reflect on them.

The research that I am conducting has been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the School of Applied Leadership and City University of Seattle; your safety and privacy will be my priority. You will be protected as no information about your identity will be revealed –it will remain confidential. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you may refuse to participate or withdraw your participation at any time without negative consequences. You also may request a copy of the final research study report.  Additionally, should a question be asked that you are not comfortable with, you have every right to not answer it.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
